Background
The core strategy of the supply function within UNICEF Tanzania’s country programme is to strengthen national supply chains and counterpart capacity development to ensure that the welfare of children and mothers is improved.
In line with this strategy, the supply function also continue to focus on service delivery aspects through direct procurement and delivery against the request of the Government in specific areas, notably in support of health, nutrition, WASH and education related programme outputs.
The annual procurement volume of goods and services averages US$ 10.5 million in UNICEF direct program support and US$60 million in procurement services.
