JOB TITLE: NUTRITION OFFICER (MICRONUTRIENT DEFICIENCIES)
Post Level : National Officer - Level B (NOB)
Type of Contract :Temporary Appointment (1 year, renewable)

UNICEF Tanzania is planning to recruit a Nutrition Officer in charge of supporting the fight against micronutrient deficiencies (Iodine Deficiency Disorders, Vitamin A deficiencies and Anemia). Under the supervision of the Nutrition Manager, the nutrition officer will be accountable for professional technical contribution to project design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of micronutrient component of the nutrition programme, data analysis and progress reporting, and commitment for enhancement of teamwork and capacity building, in support of achievement of planned objectives of the work plan; aligned with country programme goals and strategy.
Major Accountabilities
1. Support TFNC, MOHSW, zMOH, Salt Producers Associations and others MDAs involved in development and implementation of universal salt iodization strategies.
2. Support TFN(, MOHSW, zMOH in planning and implementation of child health days including vitamin A supplementation and deworming in Tanzania.
3. Support TFNC, MOHSW, zMOH in prevention and treatment of anemia with a focus on Iron Deficiency
4. Ensure the availability of accurate, complete and up-to-date information required for effective Nutrition programme and project design, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation.
5. Enhance project efficiency and effectiveness through implementation follow-on, including monitoring UNICEF inputs, local conditions and resources, flow of supply and non-supply assistance and Nutrition project status.
6. Analyze collected data and information and prepare progress reports; and assist in identification of required supplies and equipment.
7. Ensure the appropriateness of financial, administrative and supply documentation. Collaborate with Operations staff to implement internal controls systems and resolve day-to-day issues or discrepancies in financial or supply management.
8. Team with local Government counterparts to exchange information on Nutrition project implementation-and status as well as movement. and distribution of supplies.
9. Coordinate with members of the development community, including NGOs, UN and bilateral agencies in the exchange of information relating to Nutrition sector.
Expected Qualification and Experience
• Minimum Master Degree in Nutrition, Food Sciences, Public Health or other relevant disciplines.
• Minimum two years of relevant professional work experience. Field work experience.
• Fluency in English and knowledge of Kiswahili is mandatory.

Required qualifications, competences and experience
• University degree or comparable
• At leats 3 years’ professional experience in the field of communication (media and PR work, journalism, internal communication or lobbying or similar)
• Ability to express onself well both verbally and writing; polished, target-group oriented style
• Editorial experience, experience in writing; articles and press releases (evidenced e.g. by work samples)
• Very good working knowledge of Kiswahili and English with some knowledge of German is an additional asset
• Knowledge and previous experience with working in an international environment and/or Development Cooperation is essential

Purpose of the Position
To provide pharmaceutical expertise to AAR Healthcare clinics
The Successful candidates will be based in Mwanza and Dar es salaam and will be reporting to HELTH CENTRE MANAGER on day to day operations and technical to QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER
Duties and Responsibilities
• Accurately and efficiently prepare prescription orders; ensure that they are error free, appropriate and safe for the individual patient
• Providing advice to clinical staff on rational prescribing habits
• Liaising with other medical staff on problems patients may experience when taking medicines and maintain pharmacovigilence records
• Keeping records of patient prescriptions and stock management documents
• Compounding of medication should be need arise ensuring pharmacy acts and regulations are followed; and pharmacy standards Operating procedures are adhered to
• Supervision of pharmacy units and ensure adequate staffing of the unit at all times
• Managing pharmacy inventories; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipts and proper stock storage; managing variances and expired drugs
• Preparing any pharmacy related reports and keeping up to date with, and contributing to research and development
• Take lead in orientation and mentoring of new pharmacy staff
• Any other duty that might be assigned to you by supervisor(s)
The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)
• Minimum experience of two years in pharmaceutical services
• Proven skills in planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting; human resource development and management
• High level proficiency in computer use
• Strong leaderships skills, team player, good communication skills-English-written and oral
• Strong analytical approach the problem solving
• Must be registered with Tanzania Pharmacy Council with a valid practice license and in good standing with the pharmacy council

Objective
The main responsibility of the Treasury Back Office is the processing of all Treasury transactions in a correct manner. The main Treasury transactions includes
• Foreign Exchange deals

Essential Functions
• Confirmation of all transactions completed by Treasury Front Office staff

• Reconcile Treasury Front Office positions

Required Education & Experience

• Good knowledge of banking instruments, procedures

• Experience in working with SWIFT
• Treasury accounting or financial accounting experience
• Understanding of FX/MM, securities, Repos and Common FX & IR derivatives
• Fluent communication skills in English (both verbally and writing)
