Our Client, National Housing and Construction
Company Limited (NH&CC) is a construction and real estate
management company, whose mandate is to increase the housing stock in
the country, rehabilitate the housing industry and encourage Ugandans to
own homes in an organized environment.
The
Company strives to: design, construct and sale high quality homes in an
organized environment; Offer consultancy services in real estate
development and management; Provide construction services for medium and
large-scale projects; and Offer Property Management Services in its
efforts to strengthen the capacity of the company to effectively and
efficiently deliver its mandate.
NHCC seeks to recruit qualified and competent persons to fill the Chief Finance Officer and Chief Engineer positions.
Chief Finance Officer:
The
Chief Finance Officer will report to Chief Executive Officer and will
be responsible for optimization of Stakeholders’ expectations through
planning, allocation and accountability of the Company’s financial
resources in support of the Company’s strategic goals.
Key duties and responsibilities will include the following:
- Focus on strategic planning through influencing and facilitating development of future strategic directions in accordance with company policies and procedure;
- Develop and manage effective Corporate Accounting Procedures that adhere to IAS’s and other best practices;
- Lead and coordinate the Company wide operational planning and budgeting;
- Establish and maintain an effective and optimal treasury functions, aimed at effective working capital management;
- Lead the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual monthly financial and management information reports in accordance with provisions of the finance manual;
- Lead the implementation and management of an effective, comprehensive and user friendly MIS, Management accounting and budget control procedures;
- Manage all regulatory procedures that bear on financial statements, such as tax returns and filing annual accounts;
- Manage and maintain effective relations with company bankers, creditors and shareholders;
- Provide support for productive and problem – free internal and external audits;
- Develop and implement effective investment policies and practices; and
- Perform any other duties as may from time to time be directed by the relevant authority.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business, preferably with specialization in Accounting and Finance from a recognized university;
- A full professional accounting qualification and full membership of an Internationally recognized accountancy institution, such as ACCA,CPA(UK),CFA;
- Member of ICPAU or with qualifications to be a member during the six months’ probation period;
- A post graduate qualification in Business Administration, Accounting or Financial Management is a must;
- A minimum of seven (7) years post qualification (as a professional Accountant) experience, five of which must have been at the level of Head of Finance in a commercial and result oriented organization
- Previous financial management experience and experience in development of financial management strategies is essential
- Experience in construction finance modelling and development of innovative financial products in a similar organization is required
- Proficiency in implementing a top range of accounting Information Systems/Software;
