Job Title: Executive Director (1 post)
Reports to: MOI Board of Trustees
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The executive director is responsible for:
• Supervising all activities of the institute services, research and training, overall man-agement/maintenance and ensure hat these are run in accordance to the management concept of the institute.
• Will be the Chief Executive officer of the institute who will have final deciding authority in the day to day management issues of the institute.
• Ensuring that the institute operates cost effectively, managed efficiently and sustainably.
• Chief spokesperson of the institute on all operations malters.
• Custodian of discipline at the institute.
• Ensuring that the institute finances are appropriately managed.
• Secretary to the Institute Board and as much instrumental in implementing its decisions and directives.
• Ensuring that the relationship between MOI and Muhimbili National Hospital and between MOI and MUHAS and other medical Institutions is strengthened under the principles of memorandum of understanding between the institutes.
• Chairman of institutes management team.
• Representing the institute at government and other institutions meetings and conferences.
• Overall in charge of the institute budget as the accounting officer.
• Developing health concept and strategies and implementing them with health sector and public sector reform.
• Co-ordinate and communicating all activities on a policy level with government and international organizations.
• Any other related duty as assigned by the Board of Trustees and any other relevant authority.
Requirements
Qualifications
• Holder of at least Master Degree or equivalent postgraduate Diploma in Healt or Business Management.
Experience and Personal Attributes
• Must have a minimum of eight years working experience in a reputable public institution.
• Must have an experience in hospital Management.
• Able to demonstrate in depth knowledge of principles of new public institution.
• Good leadership skills and qualities.
• Able to provide equality right to both non medical and medicatl cadres.
• Able to communicate with proven interpersonal skills.
• Medical background is assential preferable.
• Veracity in the critical management skills of transformation leadership, action planning, performance and total quality management, team building, decision making, problem solving and change management.
