  1. Organizational Context and Purpose for the job
UNICEF Tanzania country office is recruiting a Supply Assistant in the Supply and Logistics section under the general supervision of the Supply and Procurement Specialist. He/she will performs all procurement duties including requests for proposals and purchase orders for all kinds of goods and services, obtaining quotations from local vendors, monitors status of financing and maintains financial records of purchase allotment accounts, facilitates hotel bookings and prepare all procurement reports and document filling
III. Key functions, accountabilities and related duties/tasks:
  • Processing of procurement tender documents for establishment of contracts for more costly procurements required under the procurement procedures
  • Processing of procurement requests roles in line with UNICEF guidelines and procedures
  • Processing of conference/accommodation/hotel bookings as per requests received from program sections
  • Facilitating receiving of supplier invoices and processing payments
  • Processing of procurement reports and filling of all section documents
  1. Impact of Results
The efficiency and efficacy of the support and assistance provided by the Supply Assistant supports the strengthening of the supply section' capacity in provide cost effective and timely delivery of supplies and services, which in turn strengthens UNICEF's capacity in helping the most vulnerable women and children in Tanzania.

  1. Recruitment Qualifications and Experience
  • Completion of Secondary school education is required with certificates in business administration, Supply chain management, procurement and logistic shall be considered as an advantage
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressively working experience in supply chain/logistic/operations management
  • Fluency of English and local language of the duty station required.
