Senior HR Assistant (part time 50%)D
The selection committee may place suitable candidates on a reserve list, from which candidates may be appointed to similar positions in the same or another business area. It may also be decided to fill the position(s) advertised in this vacancy notice with a suitable candidate or candidates from the reserve list resulting from a recruitment procedure for a similar position. Candidates will be informed accordingly if this happens.
The main tasks of the Recruitment and Compensation (RCO) Division are to take care of the staff recruitment process, to manage the ECB's position plan, employment contracts, staff data, signing powers, salaries and benefits, and to develop and administer the ECB's Retirement Plan and Pension Scheme, as well as the medical, accident and travel insurance policies. The RCO Division is also responsible for the human resources-related part of an extensive SAP application environment (ISIS) that supports its main administrative, human resources and controlling processes. Through the use of ISIS, new requirements related to its current implementation or requests for change continue to emerge and need to be addressed on a continuous basis. In order to develop the environment in a controlled manner, these specific requests need to be prioritised, addressed (e.g. through specific development), tested, accepted and “packaged†into functional releases for eventual deployment. The selected candidate will be working in the ISIS team. This team supports the implementation of the SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) modules, Employee-Self-Service, Manager-Self-Service and workflows. The successful applicant will be entrusted with the following main tasks:
- advising and supporting management, management assistants, power users and all other staff working with HR processes in ISIS;
- creating training and self-learning material, drafting intranet announcements. and providing training courses so that tasks can be performed by end-users;
- supporting the team in terms of managing the new developments, implementation and maintenance of all HCM modules, as well as supporting the administrative process of IT change management;
- preparing and performing test cycles and documenting their results;
- providing ad-hoc information on the basis of reports and ad-hoc queries.

Applicants must have the following knowledge and competencies:
- relevant vocational training or a university degree in human resources, information systems or other relevant field ;
- in-depth knowledge in at least one of the following HR areas:
- professional experience of working with SAP HCM modules, preferably in the role of power user;
- experience in preparing business cases and performing test cycles for software developments would be a strong asset;
- experience of working in a support role for end-users;
- ideally, experience in basic customising within any SAP HCM module;
- an understanding of workflow-supported processes and knowledge of role concepts in SAP would be considered an advantage;
- an advanced-level command of English;
- a good knowledge of at least one other official language of the EU;
- a working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with staff and management at all levels, both inside and outside the organisation;
- handles sensitive information in a discreet manner, respecting confidentiality;
- communicates ideas in an effective and clear manner, and ensures mutual comprehension;
- is able to provide training sessions and explain technical issues to non-technical users;
- pursues tasks with energy and drive, and is able to manage challenging situations in a calm and confident manner;
- manages multiple assignments and tracks progress on numerous processes simultaneously;
- uses diplomacy and tact when dealing with colleagues.
The recruitment process may include a pre-screening exercise, a written exercise, a presentation and interviews.
