Description
One of our esteemed clients, being a leader in the insurance sector, has an exciting vacancy for the position of ‘Accountant’.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Manage payroll
• Manage petty cash
• Produce balance sheets / P&L statements / cash flow analysis / cash flow forecasts / management accounts
• Daily data entry: petty cash, spoilage, daily expenses
• Daily reconciliation of statements
• Oversight on the collection of all receipts, filing, and processing
• Monthly reconciliations: ie bank statements
• Perform cost benefit analysis
• Understand equipment depreciation
• Manage inventory (supplies)
• Interact with customers to collect from invoices
• Understand price / cost / margin processes
• Conduct proper book keeping and budget preparation
• Actively participate in stock taking
• Monitoring and implement relevant controls
• Manage the company’s accounts and produce management reports
• Filing returns: Statutory deductions and VAT
• Cash and Bank Reconciliations
• Managing ledgers, debtor and creditor accounts
• Provide the directors and auditors with management and financial information
• Provide support to the management team
• Preparing accounting sections of TIRA reports
Qualifications & Skills
• A minimum of CPA or its equivalent
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles (receivables and payables)
• Must have a minimum of 5 years in a similar role
• Extremely detail-oriented
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Strong analytical and accounting skills
• Must have previous experience in conducting stock takes and book keeping
• Proficiency in accounting software packages and Excel
