JOB PURPOSRE
Entails going out on assignment as well as use of own initiative together news. The jobholder ensure that the news stories submitted are factual, of public interest, detailed and well researcher in conformity with journalistic editor objectives and house style
1. 1. REPORTERS SUB EDITOR
RESPONSIBLE
– Develop reports and whitens and features stories for the title he/she is assigned to in finished form so that no major rewriter is required or no extensive additional reports is needed
– Briefly editor news regional coordinator on stories gathered and written the selected ones within the seat deadlines
– Follow news lead and maintains close contact with ht new source
– Continuously builds his/her contacts list and demonstrates its value with consistence exclusive reports or covers
– Coordinate news gathering
– Prepare daily news coverage docket and forward it to the news editor/regional coordinator ever day
Qualifications and experience
ACADEMIC BASIC UNIVERSITY DEGREE
PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN JOURNALISM/ MASS COMUNICATIONS
EXPERIENCE 1 TO 3 REARS JOURNALISTICS WORKING EXPERIENCE

SUB EDITOR GENERAL NEWS- THE CITIZEN ONE POST
To edit story, write captions, place picture and write headlines conformity with journalistic ethic editorial objective and house style within the seat deadlines
RESPONSIBILITIES
– Check and correct editorial copy allocated by the chiefs sub –editor for facts, accuracy taste house style language use clarity details objectivity and spellings
– Sub-copy to fit allocated space without distorting facts or dispensing with the silent post
– Rewrite the appropriate headline for the copy ensuring the chief sub-editor within seat deadlines
– Make up the editor page as directed by the chiefs sub-editor

3. Subeditor Sports – ONE POST
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
– Check and correct editorial copy allocated by sports editor for facts accuracy taste house style language use clarity details objectivity spellings etc.
– Rewrite the copy as necessary for simplicity clarity style etc.
– Edit pictures selects by sports editor to fit allocated space and writes/rewrites appropriate captions taking care not to merely state the obvious details
EXPERIENCE
– At least 4 years experience at journalism part of which as sub editor
– Degree in journalism
– Mastery of English and Swahili grammar
