This position is located in the Information Management and Technology Section (IMTS), Programme Support and Management Services (PSMS) of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the incumbent reports directly to head of the web team and ultimately to the head of the Enterprise Solutions Unit (ESU).
Responsibilities
Act as primary point of contact for OHCHR websites and provide web help desk services.
Create, update and delete web contents based on users' requests. Control information quality using information life cycle parameters and business workflow.Respond to inquiries on web contents. Identify and solve web contents-related errors and problems.Monitor and maintain the OHCHR web contents, including the information on the United Nations Human Rights mechanisms, operations and activities; OHCHR organizational entities and services; databases, systems and forms used by OHCHR staff members and web user communities.Monitor the validity of the OHCHR web for internal and external links, copy right and all other issues stated in the UN web guidelines.Assist in the creation and maintenance of web content in the six official working languages. Prepare instructions to the translators as required.Act as technical liaison for all Website applications in OHCHR with vendors, technical support and developers.Develop and maintain a functional, operational and technical web expertise.Administer the OHCHR websites by managing users and user accounts.Design and customize web applications using the web content management systems, web development software and multi-media tools.Load and classify OHCHR documents in the relevant database in the six U.N. official languages. Check the documents daily list available on the Optical Disk System (ODS) and update the OHCHR database accordingly.Load and classify OHCHR news in English, French and Spanish in the news database. Work closely with the OHCHR Communications Section and the Department of Public Information.Assist in the preparation of standardized documentation and procedures relating to the OHCHR web practices.Keep abreast of the latest developments in the field of web, knowledge management and information technology.Provide training for OHCHR web users Competencies

High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of experience in Information Technology, information management or related area are required, of which preferably 4 years in web design, including two years of experience in web publishing would be highly desirable.
Experience working with a Content Management System and/or HTML-CSS is desirable.Experience publishing content in SharePoint 2010 and 2013 is an advantage.Experience working with official documents in any international organisation is an advantage.Experience working with the UN Secretariat Optical Disc System or any equivalent system is desirable. The working languages of the UN Secretariat are English and French.
Fluency in English and knowledge of French are required. Knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage. Assessment Method
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which will be followed by competency-based interview.
