OUNGOZI
Institute seeks to inspire leaders and promote the recognition of the
important role of leadership in sustainable development within Africa
The
Institute of African Leadership for stainable Development (UONGOZI
Institute) operating under the auspices of the Office of the President
of United Republic of Tanzania, was established by the Government of
Tanzania in 2010. The Institute provides training to leaders from
Tanzania and beyond, organizes high-level policy forums and dialogues,
and carries out research on leadership and sustainable development
The
main responsibility of the CDS is to lead the development and
implementation of the Institute’s leadership development programs in
line with the Institute’s Strategy and Leadership Development Framework
candidates should be highly qualified senior experts with experience in
leadership development in Africa
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The
capacity Development Specialist (CDS) will be responsible for leading
the capacity development department in the Institute She/he will be
managing a team of trainers/training coordinators and consultants. The
CDS reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Specifically, the CDS
will
•
Further develop UIs leadership capacity building product portfolio to
meet the expectations and needs of senior and emerging leaders in Africa
• Ensure high quality of the leadership capacity building programmes
• Develop a network of partners and collaborators for training delivery
• Keep
abreast with and apply in UI’s programmes the latest approaches, tools
and methods to strengthening the core competencies of leaders
• Benchmark the programmes offered by the Institute against those offered by similar institutions globally
• Lead the team of trainers/training coordinators of UI as well as consultants and trainer hired to develop and deliver training
• Take any other duties given by the CEO
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
• Wide experience in leadership development in Africa
• Understanding of leadership challenges in general, and in the continent in particular
• Knowledge of leadership development actors, networks and organization
• Visionary thinking and ability to think strategically
• Excellent conceptualization skills
• Ability to inspire and motivate the team as well as leaders
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and writing; excellent facilitation skills
• Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, a good team player
• Flexible, pro-active, reliable client orientated and problem solver
• High proficiency in English
• Well organized and conversant with most common IT applications
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE EXPERTS
• The candidate should be a national of an Africa Country
• A
master’s Degree in, Educational, Public Administration, Development
Studies or in a related Social science discipline with experience in
curriculum development, training needs assessment, training methologies,
public administration education, organizational learning, leadership
development reflective professional practice, career development human
resources or ant other subject relevant to capacity building of leaders
•
Minimum 10 years of experience in leadership programme development
higher professional education, design and delivery of training modules
and development of training materials and manuals in relation to
executive audiences, preferably in international settings
• Demonstrate expertise in modern training methodologies suitable for an executive audience

JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT
POSITION/RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, Accountant Assistant will have the following tasks and responsibilities
i. Maintain proper books of accounts of Head Officer
ii. Maintains an accurate and up to date Fixed Assets Register for Head Office
iii.
Manages petty cash; by ensuring proper recording, analysis, allocation
to proper cost centers authorization, and safeguard under lock. Petty
cash should balance daily
iv. Performs all custodian functions (of petty cash, minimum reserves and other important official document
v. Ensure proper adherence to approval limits in all financial transactions
vi.
Captures all financial data into the accounting system, and ensures
that all financial voucher/document are properly backed up and filed on
daily basis
vii. Assist in timely and accurate preparation of the necessary periodic reports at Head Office
viii.
Does all bank reconciliations, follows up all unresolved issues
(reconciling items) with the bankers an executes all banking activities
at Head Office
ix. Responsible for braches accounting and budgeting functions
x.
Monitors and verifies office supplies, telephone usage and utilities
(water, rent, electricity, and fuel) bill against budgetary allocations
on monthly basis
xi. Maintains all subsidiary ledge accounts e.g. staff advanced or staff loans
xii. Timely preparation and of monthly/quarterly branch financial reports with budgetary analysis

xiv. Conduct other assignments are required by management
Qualifications and Experience
i. The candidate must have at least three years experience in accounting and financial management
ii. Holder of a Degree/Advanced diploma in Accountancy from a recorgnized Institutions
iii. Should possess Financial Accounting knowledge and reporting with proved tract record
iv.
Must have experience with computerized accounting system/management
information system, knowledge and experience with the Navision
application will be added advantage
v. Should be honestly,
disciplined, integrity, and a self-starter with interpersonal skills
necessary to work in Multidisciplinary environment
vi. Should be self starter and result driven with excellent communication skills
Term of employment
The
Assistant Accounting will be employed on a three years contract; the
renewable of the contract will be on the basis of the performance. PASS

JOB TITLE: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER (3 Post)
The
Business Development Officer will be reporting to Branch Manager and
will have the following tasks and through handouts, posters, advertising

i. Promoting and informing about role of PASS, at the
meetings with potential clients, at visits to clients through handout,
posters, advertising etc
ii. Identification of Demand for assistance
and support from larget groups in accessing finance from banks. This

iii. To identify and introduce new business development products to meet the requirements of the evolving agriculture sector
iv.
Design and establishment of feasible models for activities at
smallholder farmers levels, including diversification of crops,
improvement of production practices etc
v. Making pre evaluation of
proposal presented for support, and assisting entrepreneurs in improving
on proposal into business plans of commerce, Agricultural officers,
Traders, Processors etc
vi. Liaise with key local authorities so as
to identify and promote investments in agricultural and agro business in
the Zone. This will include chamber of Commerce, Agricultural officers,
Traders, Processors etc
vii. Assist clients to obtain credit facilities from collaborating banks
viii. Monitoring the performance of the clients in relation to respective business plans and budget
ix. Performing other duties as advised by management from time to time
Qualification and Experiences
i.
A business development specialist with good knowledge/experience in
Tanzanian agriculture and agribusiness development with minimum
experience of 3 years in business planning, project analysis evaluation
and monitoring
ii. A good academic background, minimum Masters Degree
in agricultural field, preferably in agricultural economics, Business
Administration of any similar qualification backed up by extensive
experience in business planning, project analysis, evaluation and
monitoring
iii. Must demonstrate experience in credit guarantee
schemed and other financial or non financial business development
services required to accelerate investments in small and medium scale
farming and agro enterprises
iv. Adequate experience in agricultural
supply chain interventions for enhancement of small/medium scale
agricultural development
v. Knowledge in agricultural financing and
experience in facilitation of lending to smallholders including
experience in negotiating with banks
vi. Should have hands on
experience in business planning and project appraisal; familiarity and
use of tools for agricultural and investment projects analysis in
