Corporate Information & Technologies (CIT) along with other units in the World Bank Group Information & Technology Solutions (ITS) provides comprehensive IT support for IFC. The application landscape encompasses a wide variety of COTS and custom solutions. The technical landscape is continuously updated & some of the core technologies include Oracle, Java, IBM Websphere Portal, .Net, Alliance/SWIFT, Documentum, SharePoint, MS Exchange, C++, and many others. Background / General description
Experienced IT professional with knowledge in the design and execution of well-engineered, tested, and deployed cross-functional, multi-platform application systems.1. Supports the feasibility analysis for new systems/applications, including understanding implications for the current and future architecture.2. Contributes to the development of long-term plans for applications and systems in the area(s) supported, while factoring in an understanding of the future directions of the business area as well as changes in the technology landscape.3. Supports the monitoring of the operating efficiency of existing application systems and supports the provision of proactive maintenance.4. Performs reviews of coding and/or configuration to meet documented needs, utilizing standard procedures and techniques.5. Tests own work and ensures effective test plans are developed and executed.6. Ensures compliance and execution of the defined SDLC framework.7. Supports the coordination with clients and colleagues to resolve systems issues and advance development projects.8. Ensures user training and contributes to the development of materials to support user training on new or revised systems/applications.9. Contributes to maintenance awareness of projects or changes to other systems that may affect their applications/systems, and ensures there is no degradation of service.10. Supports the mentoring and development of technical staff in their domain.11. Contributes to enterprise strategic planning to decide upon major capital investment and long-term budgetary expenditures.Responsibilities:1. Contributes to the definition and implementation of business-value driven quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) strategies for CIT supporting the organization's short- and long-term business and strategic goals.2. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures to establish an efficient and cost-effective product and process quality assurance (QA) while implementing the defined strategy. Adhering to the CIT Solution Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) and covering system and integration testing, support to User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and verification of testing deliverables.3. Contributes to the improvement of the defined processes and procedures.4. Contributes to the increase business value following mature QA practices.5. Provide holistic testing services for selected IT Projects/Programs, including management and execution of all testing activities.6. Performs quality reviews of selected project deliverables to ensure their correctness and completeness.7. Explores and evaluates different QC models and approaches.8. Contributes to the development and management of QA service level agreements with delivery managers.9. Contributes to the development and tracking of QA and QC metrics and supports the improvement of the process and procedures in place based on the gathered metrics.10. Contributes to the development of a QA and QC costing framework evaluating different approaches. Supports the monitoring of costs and the identification of cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality.11. Tracks vendor metrics as agreed in vendor contracts.12. Actively supports the use of the QA toolset (including but not limited to, Test Automation Framework using Unified Functional Testing (UFT), and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)) to ensure consistency of the test process and deliverables among projects, achieve cost reduction through automation of test cases, and retain requirements/test cases as an institutional asset for the corporation.
