Working as a Marketing Manager you will be given a platform to run things, think creatively, and play a leading role in a buzzing management team.
The management of the Hotel Zakinn Zanzibar invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians for the position of Marketing Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
To oversee and manage sales, marketing and front office staff to ensure maximum revenue realization, and grabbing of business opportunities as they appear
As Marketing Manager you are supposed to work closely with sales and marketing team, to develop strategies to maximize revenues and growth of market share.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain and promote a team work environment with effective and clear communication amongst co-workers.
• Ensure best customer service is being made available through communication amongst the team and training within the department
• Work with sales officers to ensure adoption of sales strategy and effective implementation of the strategy by the department
• Work with management team to implement department’s sales plan
• Establish professional, friendly attitude towards customers, timely response to customers and maintenance of company’s sales standards.
• Ensure the hotel meets or exceeds budgeted goals.
• Implement Hotel Sales and Marketing policies as well as procedures.
• Establish and implement sales promotions
• Focus on strategies for attracting new business.
• Attend monthly sales strategy meeting
• Update the Managing Director regarding Company’s sales plan & strategy
• Review special corporate negotiated rates
• Provide aggressive leadership to ensure realization of maximum sales revenue
• Implement sales functions to build long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel sales objectives.
• Recommends monthly room nights target goals for sales team members.
• Supervise making of sales calls by the sales team to acquire new businesses
• Develop and send press releases to targeted lists highlighting all activities and promotions.
• Maintain and expand corporate incentive program via direct mail, personal visits etc.
• Responsible for training of sales team
• Implement sales and marketing standard operating policies and procedures
• Evaluate hotel’s participation in various sales channels, Market Sales, Event Booking Centres, electronic lead channels, etc.
• Responsible for Corporate and Travel Agent Room Sales for the hotel.
• Clear understanding of the hotels business strategies then set goals and to determine action plans to meet those goals.
• Update action plans and financial objectives quarterly.
• Identify new markets and business opportunities and increase sales.
• Represent Hotels in various events and exhibition.
• Implements all sales action plans related to my market areas as outlined in the marketing plan.
• Conducts daily sales calls and arrange site inspection trips to hotels by corporate clients.
• Able to provide quick and timely responses, immediate communication to the properties, develop professional long term business relationships.
• Provide the highest quality of service to the customer at all times.
• Participates in sales calls with members of sales team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
• Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g. generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
• Able to supports hotels service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
• Develop strong relationships with front office team to ensure working in unity and always striving to achieve the same goals.
• Accompany sales team on sales calls to potential customers and assist in development of new accounts
• Assess training needs based on data gathered and interaction with sales team
• Attend departmental and hotel meetings as necessary.
• Targeting key accounts potential for the company.
• Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings.
• Develop relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities.
• Manage and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
• Acquire and develop new business accounts and prepare sales proposals for customers.
Qualifications and Experience:
(i) Applicants should have a Degree or Diploma majoring in Marketing from recognized training institution
(ii) Previous experience of at least 2 years in hotel business
(iii) Analytical and proactive approach to marketing.
(iv) IT skills
(v) the ability to ‘sell’ your ideas
(vi) good presentation skills
(vii) Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
