We are seeking to recruit in our Internal Client Services department ? Risk and Independence in East Africa. This position is open to applicants and the successful candidate will be placed in their country of residence. The focus will be on the following areas:
Independence: Monitoring and compliance to our Deloitte Independence policies, IFAC Code and any local regulatory laws
Risk Management: monitoring and testing of client engagement risk procedures
Assisting the client teams on any independence consultations
The responsibilities will include the following:
Refresh and regular maintenance of the Independence and Quality Intranet site.
Client engagement acceptance testing.
Monitoring and facilitation of E Learning.
Carry out local, cluster wide and international conflict checks, analyze the results and report back to the requestor in standard format.
Assist with carrying out required background checks (open sources, DESC IREL, Eastern REL) for potential new clients and new engagements, analyse the results and report back to the requesting partner in standard format.
Staff assistance as required with Deloitte Risk Management System (DRMS).
Bachelors degree in a business related field with a minimum upper second class;
Should have minimum at least 3 years work experience in accounting and/or finance
Strong communication skills (oral and written).
Effective presentation skills.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task and undertake research initiatives.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Role Background
As a Business Analyst, you will be an integral member of a service delivery team, collaborating with diverse and talented team members to help solve problems, improve performance, and generate value for our clients across a broad base of industries. Business Analyst responsibilities will include the following:
Ensure availability of accurate and timely data on assigned tasks as required including using available knowledge sources optimally;
Ensure assigned work is completed within agreed time frames and carried out per approved methodologies and standards and within agreed budgets;
Learn and apply Deloitte standards, procedures and methodologies on assignments;
Assist in developing recommendations for corrective action/improvement;
Keep the engagement manager updated on any issues arising from the assignment;
Assist the department with day to day administrative tasks for the receivership/liquidation assignments and also departmental administration tasks such as filing and updating of client files;
Ensure that all client working papers are filed per approved guidelines and all client files are continually updated;
Develop and manage good client relations producing outputs which meet client and Firm expectations/standards;
Market the Firm with the aim of maintaining and winning new business;
Keep abreast with technical developments in the profession and the country, in order to anticipate client needs, and offer value added and practical business solutions;
Leverage knowledge and contribute to proper knowledge management within the department; and
Any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time.
Be a Tanzanian citizen;
Undergraduate degree in Information Technology or in any other related field;
At least an Upper Second class degree or equivalent;
Division 1 in ‘A’ Level or equivalent;
Division 1 in ‘O’ Level (with a minimum of B in both English and Mathematics) or equivalent;
Demonstrate strong communication, numerical and analytical skills;
Be willing to work under supervision and learn new skills quickly;
Be results oriented and able to meet tight deadlines; and
Advanced Excel Skills is an added advantage.
